Finance Minister Says State Budget Realization for Semester I 2026 Remains Healthy

Finance 14 July 2026

Ministry of Finance – Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the performance of the State Budget for the first semester of 2026 remains healthy and maintained amidst global economic uncertainty. As of the end of June 2026, state revenues recorded strong growth, supported by increased tax, customs and excise revenues, and non-tax state revenues (PNBP).

"Overall, the first semester's results show that state revenue momentum is on a positive track," stated the Minister of Finance during a working meeting with the House of Representatives Budget Committee on Tuesday (July 7) in Jakarta.

Regarding expenditures, the Minister explained that through the first semester of 2026, central government spending reached IDR 1,298.6 trillion, a 29.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The state expenditure is focused on supporting various national priority programs, such as the implementation of the MBG, distribution of social assistance such as Health Insurance Contribution assistance for the underprivileged, distribution of Staple Food Cards, the Family Hope Program, distribution of the Indonesia Smart College Card, and payment of civil servant salaries including THR and the 13th salary. Meanwhile, transfers to regions have reached IDR 357.4 trillion or 51.6 percent of the APBN ceiling, becoming the highest realization in the last five years.

The State Budget (APBN) also continues to function as a shock absorber through fiscal policies that maintain economic stability, including maintaining subsidized fuel prices to protect public purchasing power. The government also continues to strengthen synergies with regional governments to ensure state spending is more effective in supporting development.

"The increase in central government spending in 2026 will be a catalyst to support economic growth in the first half of 2026," he said.

The APBN deficit was recorded at IDR 734.3 trillion, a manageable 2.85% of GDP.

Therefore, the Minister of Finance emphasized that the state budget will continue to maintain a healthy budget, improve the quality of spending, and optimize state revenues without increasing tax rates.

"The 2026 APBN strives to drive higher economic growth and support the priority agenda of national development while maintaining sound, credible, and accountable financial governance," he concluded (feb/al)
